Nicholas Vernon is a Certified Public Accountant with more than fifteen years of experience in real estate accounting and financial management in New York City. Throughout his career, he has overseen the financial operations of multi-family housing portfolios, navigating the complexities of compliance, reporting, and strategic planning in one of the most challenging real estate markets in the country. His work has equipped him with a deep understanding of how financial structures, tax planning, and operational efficiency intersect to support long-term business stability.
In addition to his professional experience, Nicholas holds an MBA, which has sharpened his ability to view accounting not just as a technical function but as a strategic tool for growth. Earlier this year, he launched Vernon Accounting, LLC, a firm dedicated to providing tax and financial guidance to entrepreneurs and small business owners. His decision to build a practice of his own was driven by his belief that transparency is the foundation of trust in any business relationship. He emphasizes clear communication, practical advice, and straightforward solutions to help clients make informed decisions with confidence.
At this forum, Nicholas will share insights on the essentials of entity structures, from sole proprietorships to S-Corporations, helping owners understand when and why a change may be right for their business. He will also break down the tax considerations that matter most for small business owners, including income reporting, deductions, and record-keeping practices to stay audit-ready. Finally, he will highlight simple yet effective money management strategies to improve cash flow, prepare for taxes, and ensure business owners pay themselves in a sustainable way.
Nicholas’s approach combines technical expertise with practical application, giving business owners the clarity and confidence they need to build resilient, successful enterprises.
